My Approach

My approach is compassionate empowerment.

You have the curiosity, wisdom and strength to move forward. My job is to support your self-discovery, integration and action.

I am trained in nature-based and trauma-informed coaching, and my approach is informed by you— I will take the time to learn about you, your style, your values and your goals.

In each coaching session, I support your work to identify something you want to work on, and something you want to walk forward with. How do I do this? Listening, holding a safe space for self-inquiry, asking good questions, and helping you practice accountability. I will offer interesting and appropriate tools and resources along the way, but it’s up to you to decide what you need— take what you like, and leave the rest!

Nature, writing and somatics (movement) are great catalysts for self-discovery, recovery, serenity, intuition and growth. I incorporate accessible and fun nature, writing, mindfulness and physical activities in my coaching practice. I’ll follow your lead to incorporate these modalities in our work together. I also have experience in 12 step work, deepening spirituality, and dismantling co-dependency; I can bring these approaches into our collaboration as desired.

Our focus will be on your dreams, your momentum, your choices and your action.

Here is a quick look at some of the work we may do together over time. You, your flight plan, and coaching subscription will determine how fast and far you fly.

WISDOM

INQUIRY. Alight. Pause to look and listen… to you, and your world. I’ll get to know you, and you’ll get to know you. Focus on self-awareness— skills, strengths, challenges and dreams. Consider context— who have you become, and how do you want to hatch and grow?

INSPIRATION. Spark your interest and ignite your imagination. We’ll push you off the perch so you can start hunting down the things that make your heart sing. Focus on wonder and new energy—spirit, renewal, creativity, curiosity and joy.

LEARNING. We learn to fly forward. I’ll invite you to open your mind to new possibilities and try a variety of resilience tools. Focus on fundamentals— self-care, spirit, connection, mastery, body & recess (yes, recess). Test fly some new habits and start developing your own daily rituals.

RESILIENCE

ACTION. Germination phase. Time to sprout. Take all that new wisdom and co-create your personal resilience plan. Start leafing out and put your new practices into action. Focus on creative solutions for yourself.

PROGRESS. Send your tap root down. Get anchored in your new daily practice. Record your growth rings with a daily inventory; problem solve challenges and obstacles. Focus on practice-- reflection, evaluation, adjustment and refinement.

GROWTH. Set goals and pursue dreams. Reach for the sun and bend in the wind! You’ve got the experience and strength to cope AND hope. So what do you hope for? Let’s figure out where you’re going, and how to grow there. Focus on purpose-- setting goals, creating milestones, enlisting champions… and celebrating wins!
